N2  - Alternative medicine includes treatments that are not considered mainstream and is suggested to replace the accepted treatment, while complementary treatment is added to the conventional treatment. The estimated prevalence of their use in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) is high, ranging between 21–60%. This review summarizes the data on these treatments and their efficacy in the setting of IBD.
