Preface

Medicine is at the crossroads as we march into a new genomic era, brought about by major technological advances. The disruptive technology of next generation sequencing holds exciting promise for disease gene discovery, improved understanding of the biological bases of many genetic disorders, which for some will translate to targeted therapies, and for many families will led to much improved genetic counselling.
