Title: Eyes

Cover story: The “EYES” is inspired by a ferris wheel toy at home. It was submitted on National Eyes Care Day on June 6, 2021. The kindergarten asked children to create a poster on the theme of eye care. When drawing, there happened to be a ferris wheel ornament on the desk. The child had a whim that the round central turntable of the ferris wheel was like our eyes, so the ferris wheel turntable became eyes. The surrounding lift car was incarnated as a vision chart. The colors around the eyes represent the colorful world seen by the eyes. The theme of this work is to cultivate children’s good habits of loving and protecting their eyes from childhood and to feel the beautiful world with bright eyes.

The work was painted on 30*30cm rice paper, completed with watercolor paint, and finally signed as calligraphy official script font.

Artist: Fan Tianqi, male, born in September 2014, studied in the large class of Zhengtong Kindergarten in Yangpu District in Shanghai when drawing the EYES, and now has entered the primary school affiliated to Fudan University. He has a wide range of interests such as painting, drum playing, basketball and reading picture books. From the middle class at the kindergarten, he began to learn soft pen calligraphy. During this period, he participated in children’s traditional Chinese painting. At present, he has received the second level of soft pen calligraphy of the Ministry of Education and the fifth level of soft pen calligraphy of the Ministry of Culture, and won the calligraphy award of Shanghai Medical Worker’s children’s calligraphy and painting competition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party and the second prize in Shanghai and the third prize in China in the 25th national primary and middle school student’s painting and calligraphy competition.
