Title: A Basket of Spring
Cover Story:
A Basket of Spring——The chubby woven basket is made of dark brown and beige stripes, just like the warm embrace of the earth, holding a whole basket of spring life steady. Rosy little flowers burst out in a cheerful crowd, with layered petals marked by delicate purple lines and centers like shiny golden suns. Their tender green stems hold up heart-shaped little leaves, just like a group of kids tiptoeing and stretching, reaching upward to grow. The pink and white dots in the background look like floating willow catkins, and a few tiny purple wildflowers join in the fun, making the whole scene bustling with life—like I’ve stuffed spring’s sunshine, flower fragrance, and gentle breeze right into the basket.
- Color palette: I chose bright, warm colors like pink, yellow, and green. The pink petals pair with soft green stems, and the golden flower centers light up the whole painting, letting spring’s energy leap off the page.
- Line techniques: I used thick black lines to outline the basket and flowers, making their shapes clear. The thin purple lines on the petals and the dotted background use a mix of dots and lines to add delicate details.
- Composition design: The basket rests steadily at the bottom, while the flowers stretch upward. This creates a sense of stability and upward movement, just like how we kids are rooted in the earth and growing toward the sun.
